Battersea Chapel has been a Christian place of worship since 1672 and became a Baptist church on the18th June 1797. The current
multi-purpose building was opened in 1973 and is the third building to be occupied by Battersea Chapel. We are a warm and
welcoming church who seeks to put God first and are blessed to be situated in the middle of a vibrant and culturally diverse
community. Within our friendly church family, cultural differences are respected and celebrated and we warmly welcome all who
visit us. Our desire is to be a place of worship where people can find hope and a future, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We are called to demonstrate the power of the Good News of Jesus Christ through the guidance and empowerment of His Holy Spirit.
It is our mission to serve God in our community by showing His goodness and love and to support individuals who are struggling
with difficult situations. God has placed us in the Winstanley, Kambala and The York Road Estates to impact and transform lives in
a positive way.
To be a community church that worships God wholeheartedly and passionately with our whole lives, and serves our local community, our nation and the wider world.
To be a praying and caring community church that demonstrates the love of Christ to all by encouraging, helping and standing together with those in need.
To witness to our community by showing the love of God to all, as revealed in His Son, Jesus.
To be a community church where others can find refuge, love, fellowship and hope.
